We love that Flaming Lips for always pushing the boundaries of how to release music and put on a live show. They released a super limited collection of “HEADY NUGGS: THE FIRST 5 WARNER BROS. RECORDS 1992 – 2002” And will be comprised of the complete recordings of: Hit To Death In The Future Head (1992), Transmissions From The Satellite Heart (1993), Clouds Taste Metallic (1995), The Soft Bulletin (1990), and the Grammy Award-winning, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2002).
These are long gone by now but appreciate the look into each record with this video. Below the Lips are pushing it even further releasing A four-song EP of songs in the form of a USB drive stuck inside an edible gummy skull with strawberry filling, they are going to cost $150.00. Wayne hand delivered 5 to a smaller record store in Oklahoma City. He should of known to bring more than 5 though. Here’s a quote from Wayne himself about the project: “We found this guy in Raleigh, North Carolina, who makes all these gummy bear things– even adult toys. I don’t know if he’s making giant dicks and pussies out of gummy bears, but we called him and said, ‘Hey, would you want to make a life-size human skull with a brain in it?’ And he’s like, ‘Who is this?’ We said, ‘The Flaming Lips.’ He’s like, ‘I love you guys!’ So sometimes you’re lucky and you’ll run into someone with enthusiasm.”
And if you missed this video of Wayne printing a poster with HIS OWN BLOOD from last year, well here it is again!
